Vanessa Roman's personality matches the fiery colour of her hair - burning bright with ambition and drive, ever since she was little. Her entrepreneurial spirit began with lemonade stands and a paper route. Now as a licensed Realtor and co-host of Reno vs Relocate, Vanessa wants to put the fun and enjoyment back into changing homes.
Born in Halifax, raised in Victoria, and well travelled around the globe, Vanessa’s moto has always been to embrace change. After gaining one degree in Economics from Dalhousie University, she continued her formal education in journalism, majoring in TV at the University of King's College. She completed that degree by landing a coveted internship with Entertainment Tonight in Los Angeles.
Back on the west coast on Vancouver Island, Vanessa got behind the camera promoting and developing film projects for a local film union, working her way under the skin of visual production.
And then it was time to change back to playing house, when she fell into real estate world, her imagination fired up after she and her husband started renovating properties in Victoria.
Now Vanessa has nine years under her belt of buying, renovating and selling homes.
In that time, she has seen the potential for real estate agents to do better and has become a passionate advocate for challenging her industry to set the bar higher. Too often people are afraid of change, while Vanessa runs towards it - she wants Canadians to embrace buying and selling homes.
One of her specialties is helping military and RCMP families to relocate - a challenge she is very familiar with as the wife of a Sea King pilot and mother of 3 small children. Helping clients see the possibilities behind new homes is part of the real estate agent job, and Vanessa wants clients and the public to understand that role better.
Now dividing her time between Halifax and Toronto, Vanessa has made a name for herself in the real estate world as a woman with incredible energy, full of saucy wit and Maritime charm.
